These lessons would come with Kelly as he made his move to fill the role of Assistant Manager - Layout & Design at what was then the city's busiest mass market book publisher. Workflow was intense at the publisher to say the least and so the challenge for Kelly was to ensure that his share of the department continued to run like clockwork.....which it did. Now, it's one thing to be "Mr. Assistant Manager" but to Kelly there was still time to tackle new challenges. He took ownership of the children's book department at the publisher and spent countless hours with pastels up to his elbows illustrating page after page.

It was at CARTERmedia Communications that Kelly spread his wings fully. From a high pressure publisher to an equally fast paced ad agency Kelly felt right at home with the challenges and pressures of this dog eat dog industry. Moving his talents to the myriad of mediums out there he and Rick Carter (CARTERmedia's founder and namesake) took the industry by storm. Print, outdoor, transit, direct mail, corporate identity development.......this list of abilities grew exponentially. It was at CARTERmedia where Kelly first began playing with web technologies which opened up a whole new can of worms for him - multimedia.

About midway through his term at CARTERmedia Kelly was blessed with the formation of The Show Film & Video Productions, a sister company to the ad agency. It was this diversification that found Kelly at long last smack dab in the middle of something he has had a passion for as long as he can remember - animation. The production company took the city by storm just as the agency had and Kelly found himself gleefully working on a host of animated projects for a wide variety of clients.

In February of 2002 Animatters was made official and in July of that same year Kelly broke free of the life of "employee" and dedicated himself (and his life) to this new company that could...and has! Animatters has seen tremendous growth since those early days and continues to service a growing list of companies, samll and large, on a growing list of projects in all media. Thank you to those clients who have enjoyed the journey that Animatters has been thus far and to those who will join the journey in the future!
